Related note(s)

The words virtutibus and viribus are related in meaning, but have a different undertone. Virtus can mean goodness, virtue, excellence, bravery, strength, and capacity. Vis (pl vires) means specifically manliness, force, vigor, and power. So, the use of virtutibus is more nuanced, and can refer to goodness as well as power.
