This change from amorem to timore alters the meaning of the whole sentence, so it is very significant. The overall phrase says that the Lord pricks your conscience in his own love/fear. Given the meaning of the sentence, I would guess that 'amorem' is the more explainable option. God turns us from sin out of love, not fear.
