These verbs are both present, active, infinitives, and they come from the same root verb- 'sto, stare'. The meaning is similar, but the 'ad-' prefix makes 'adstare' slightly more specific. 'Stare' means to stand, stand firm while 'adstare' means to assist, stand upright. The words are interchangeable, 'adstare' just has a more specific focus.
