This is probably a transcription error during the manuscript's history, since these words have very different meanings 'Sicut' means as, just like while 'Scit' is a 3rd person, singular verb meaning he knows. Since this phrase already contains the transitive verb 'fuerit', I believe the 'sicut' is the correct option.
