This is an interesting variation since these two words are opposites. 'Animae' means of the soul while 'carnis' means of the flesh. The phrase is 'ad divisionem animae/carnis et spiritus' which translates to to the division of the soul/flesh and the spirit. It is possible to make a distinction between the soul and spirit, but the stronger contrast is 'ad divisionem carnis et spiritus' (between the flesh and spirit).
