The two variations have the same basic meaning, but the first is far more descriptive.
'Adiunge tanquam optimum medium ad ferventius orandum'- Apply yourself as it were toward the midst of the best and more fervent prayer.
'propter orationem'- by means of prayer.
They both involve turning to prayer, but the first option contains descriptions of the ideal type of prayer.
