Abstract Calandrelli writes of Secchi's account - at the Accademia Pontificia dei Nuovi Lincei - of Saturn appearing in an eclipse. He requests that Secchi read what Donati and Dembowski have written and inform him if Secchi's own explanation fits with these writings. If it does, Calandrelli asks that Secchi write it to him in brief. Calandrelli goes on to describe summarily the observations of Donati, Dembowski, the astronomers of Pulkovo, the astronomers of Firenze, and himself regarding this Saturnian phenomenon. He asks for Secchi's take on these varying perspectives and concludes by mentioning a note that he has ready to send to Peters.
