Abstract | Calandrelli writes that he realizes, based on what Erasmo Fabri has told him, the impossibility of gaining an audience with the Pope. Calandrelli expresses his disappointment about this; he had desired it as a chance to show the Pope - as well as others - that there was no envy brewing regarding the existence of two observatories in Rome. Calandrelli proceeds to outline a few of his sentiments - including some regarding Giuseppe Calandrelli and Ruggero Giuseppe Boscovich - to display that he had and has no ulterior motives. In concluding, he speaks of coming to visit and asks Secchi to find him a book about modern meridional instruments. |
