Abstract | Settala discusses mirror making and asks for a sketch of Kircher's "coclea archimedis". He mentions a Mr. Joachim Hernesto Blezendorff and a Mr. Venceslao Ignatio. He comments about Kircher's China Monumentis and asks for more details on Fathers D'Orville and Grueber's journey. He mentions a book about the ambassador of the Netherlands in china, and three tomes of the voyages by Monconis, which bear some parallels to the journey of Pietro della Valle. |
