Calandrelli writes that - after an illness that had bothered him since the previous Friday - he is leaving for Genzano. He mentions a few books that will be returned - including ones by Struve and Mastrofini - and says he may have need of Struve's in November. He goes on to state that Piani has sent him reports from the Accademia di Bologna in which he read some of the writings of Della Casa and Gherardi. Calandrelli asks Secchi to read what Gherardi wrote and then tell him his opinion on it. He concludes by saying he hopes to see Secchi in Galloro.
