Abstract | Calandrelli mentions the good fortunes Secchi has in terms of his situation. He goes on to mention that he is passing his time amassing observations of an unspecified comet so as to rectify his data. From this, he goes into a brief discussion of some of his meridional and non-meridional observations for July 1st and 2nd and calculations he has done with these, as well as the results of these calculations. He integrates his results with data from the Bonn and Altona observatories to come to a partial conclusion on the comet's position for July 1st. Following this, he requests a transcription from Secchi in order to advance his work on the comet's orbit. Finally, he briefly argues the value of the approach he has taken and ends the letter with rather standard formalities. |
