Abstract	Calandrelli writes that he received 64 francs which he will add to what he sends Ertel as compensation. Then, he describes vaguely some work done on an instrument - reserving details for an in-person discussion. Calandrelli proceeds to quote Ertel regarding the instrument and details some observations he himself has done with the instrument. He concludes by asking Secchi for any information on Betocchi as well as some technical information.
