Boum coria integra quam plurima in navibus imponuntur; qui cum in has maris angustias vento acti introducuntur singuli singula subeunt, atque collo introrsum complicato, ita consuunt, ne aquae aditus pateat ullus: tum sese moventes in mare coniiciunt, quos cum maximae aquilae illis regionibus familiares gryphes dictae prospiciunt: boves, aut alia animalia esse putantes, advolantes eripiunt, atque in aridam transportant, tunc vero depositis in valle, vel monte incumbunt, ut ipsis disruptis pascantur; verum opportuna celeritate usus, qui intra corium includitur homo, feram ipsam gladio confossam vulnerat, et occidit, atque hoc pacto complures evadunt.
