Summary: Kircher dedicates this fourth chapter (which starts on the last page) to the purposes of Marian devotions. Citing the observations of fellow Jesuit Francissus Bari, Kircher explains that Marian devotions are a natural extension of worshipping God, for they heighten the zeal of the devotee to both Mary and Christ. Wherever His Mother is present, so too is Christ.

observat complures Devotionis industrias Divinae Matri exhibendas,
ardentissimo zelo propagetur; sive itaque studijs incumbat
sive orationi, semper eam sibi praesentem imaginetur. -- filio suo praesentia numquam destitutam. Exiturus
domo, ei semper ardentibus jaculatorijs, ejus protectioni
te commendes; Rediturus de ubique obviantibus peccandi
occasionibus et inimici insidijs, te clementer eripuerit,
gratias condignes acturus.
Secundo. Ut festivitatibus ei consecratis numquam
intermittas, ejus gloriam magno mentis ardore colebare;
in quibus constitutus es, numquam deerunt, Ecclesias
praevijs in festorum vigilia jeiunijs, visitare, eo devotionis
affectu, quem tibi Spiritus Sanctus inspiraverit tibi
placituras, confidas.
eius instructa seligas, ibique devotionem tuam peragas;
subibis, ubi multorum castellorum, civitatumque
aspectus pateat, in quibus vix ullum Deiparae devotioni

Summary: Kircher dedicates this fourth chapter (which starts on the last page) to the purposes of Marian devotions. Citing the observations of fellow Jesuit Francissus Bari, Kircher explains that Marian devotions are a natural extension of worshipping God, for they heighten the zeal of the devotee to both Mary and Christ. Wherever His Mother is present, so too is Christ. In the second half of this page, Kircher elaborates further on his theologz of presence, and because of that quality, he sees devotions to Mary as a refuge or failsafe if other things fail.
