Gaio Plinio Secondo (Gaius Plinius Secundus), aka Plinius the elder (Como, 23 – Stabiae, 25 agosto 79]), Roman writer and naturalist. His Naturalis historia, 37 volumes, deals with scientific knowledge used as fondamental reference during the Reinassance.
