Charles Louis Cauchoix (1776-1845) was a French optician known for his expertise in crafting high-quality optical instruments, particularly telescopes and microscopes. Cauchoix gained recognition for his precision work in optics, and his telescopes were especially renowned for their quality. He produced a variety of optical instruments, including refracting telescopes, which used lenses to gather and magnify light for astronomical observation. These telescopes were often referred to as "lunettes de Cauchoix" or "Cauchoix telescopes." During his lifetime, Cauchoix supplied optical instruments to astronomers and researchers, contributing to scientific discoveries of his era.
