Anemomètre d'Osler

An anemometer created by Abraham Follett Osler (1808-1903), that measured the variable wind pressure on a plate mounted on a spring of known area, kept at a right angle to the wind direction by means of a weather vane, and recorded the reading with a pencil on a moving sheet of paper.
