Abstract Calandrelli writes of his arrival in Genzano the evening of the 4th of August and the calculations he began the morning of the 5th. He writes that, as he was preparing the calculations, he heard that Secchi had reported a finding in the Giornale di Roma. By the time Calandrelli got a copy of the journal, he was on the verge of resolving two equations that he lists. However, based on what he read of Secchi's report in the Giornale, he redid his calculations - which he briefly details. Calandrelli concludes by telling Secchi his opinion on these calculations and what he has yet to verify. In addition, he informs Secchi that, according to Ludovico Jacobini, Secchi's dispatch was stopped in Florence. He closes by sending his regards to Paolo Rosa.
