He writes that, as he was preparing the calculations, he heard that Secchi had reported a finding in the Giornale di Roma. By the time Calandrelli got a copy of the journal, he was on the verge of resolving two equations that he lists. However, based on what he read of Secchi's report in the Giornale, he redid his calculations - which he briefly details. Calandrelli concludes by telling Secchi his opinion on these calculations and what he has yet to verify. In addition, he informs Secchi that, according to Ludovico Jacobini, Secchi's dispatch was stopped in Florence. He closes by sending his regards to Paolo Rosa.

|Abstract=Calandrelli mentions the good fortunes Secchi has in terms of his situation. He goes on to mention that he is passing his time amassing observations of an unspecified comet so as to rectify his data. From this, he goes into a brief discussion of some of his meridional and non-meridional observations for July 1st and 2nd and calculations he has done with these, as well as the results of these calculations. He integrates his results with data from the Hoher List Observatorium and the Sternwarte Altona observatory to come to a partial conclusion on the comet's position for July 1st. Following this, he requests a transcription from Secchi - here mentioning Christian August Friedrich Peters - in order to advance his work on the comet's orbit. Finally, he briefly argues the value of the approach he has taken and ends the letter with rather standard formalities - including sending his regards and a few comments to Paolo Rosa.

|Abstract=Calandrelli thanks Secchi for his observations and apologizes for having worked ahead on the mathematical formulation for a certain comet dating back to 1811. He details the materials he had on hand for this work - including Cométographie by Alexandre Guy Pingré and Sul progresso degli studi astronomici negli ultimi tempit by Giovanni Santini - and the difficulties he faced therein. Calandrelli concludes by informing Secchi of the calculations he is presently undertaking with the method of Pierre-Simon de Laplace. He adds that if he comes to Rome, he will write to Secchi.
